Beginner’s Choice: Easter Brunch

Easter brunch is a tradition in many homes, especially in families that attend the late night Easter vigil.

Vici sent photos of her Easter family brunch. I was impressed with Vici’s baking skills. I only knew her as an exchange student in Singapore who cooked well.

She baked a typical Easter bread called Osterzopf and a carrot cake (featured image). Easter brunch is a special occasion.

Vici explained that Osterlamm, a simple plain cake, sometimes made with egg liqueur, is very typical for Easter in Germany.

In Singapore our Easter brunch was more simple. More effort went into preparing the midnight snack the night before. Nelly made chocolate cakes with Easter eggs which looked like nests. We also had sushi and other savoury snacks.

The Easter egg hunt is a tradition in many homes. Decorating eggs is part of the Easter fun.

Have a great week ahead.
