Beginner’s Choice: Mum’s Homemade Bread

Jo’s mum, Aunty Geraldine to many, finds the time to bake bread for the family. Not many busy mothers find the time to cook, let alone bake.

Jo celebrated her birthday in an unusual way. Her brother had learnt how to make pasta so he was going to make spinach and ricotta ravioli for dinner. Not many brothers would do that. It became a family project with Jo, her mum and her sister joining in the cooking. The ravioli was served with sage butter.

Aunty Geraldine baked a heart-shaped pulled bread made of many small buns for Jo to share with her friends. Now that’s a mother’s love. It’s often the little gifts that come from the heart that we remember most.
