Go Out And Smell The Roses: Part 2

By Andrea Pavee

It has been now more than a month since my return from sunny London and truth be told, I miss it!

London ranks high on my favourite places to visit, and I know I am not alone. By and large many Malaysians put the UK on the top of their travel list, be it to visit family, friends, study or just to holiday.

On my last visit to the UK, we landed in Manchester, made our way to Scarborough for a short holiday before heading down to London.

From Scarborough down to London, springtime in London, and summer, for that matter, is glorious. Meadows and fields are awash with flowers bobbing in the sunlight amidst the herds of sheep, cows and horses. This is especially so if you travel either by train or car and look outside the window!

One of the fondest takeaways from my last trip was my walks through Hyde Park, and I was particularly entranced by the splendid Rose Garden.

We do have roses in Malaysia. However, our blooms are rather small compared to the huge ones I saw along my strolls. I reckon this is because our weather is too hot and humid.

While London is a busy city, there are many parks for people to stroll along and take in the fresh air, exercise and just rest the mind, and eyes.

In the hubbub of our days, it is easy to put off exercise for another more opportune time. However, making exercise as part of your daily routine brings great benefit to health, wellbeing and a sense of calm.

If you find it a struggle, you are certainly not alone.

Next time when inertia, busyness or stress tempts you to forfeit exercise, take in a deep breath and go out and enjoy the sunshine. Your health will thank you for it.

Enjoy!
